Cooling Tower & Condenser Performance Test & Equipment

Performance of Condensate & Cooling Tower has direct and significant bearing on the efficiency of thermal cycle.

Hence it is imperative that the performance level of these crucial equipment is kept under close observation. However, accurate and primary measurement of flow rate of any incompressible fluid is a challenge and requires specialized equipment.

1. 3 PORT Hydraulic Pitot Tube with dual Inverted Manometer: Is used to measure the Circulating Water Flow Rate which can indicate the cooling system problems. It can also be used to calculate turbine cycle heat rate & provide On-Line measurement for CW flow in the condensate tubes parameters often difficult to measure in power plants. This pitot is specially designed with the conventional measurement technology, as it can measure angle of swirl & also has a provision to nullify it. This Pitot is fabricated from Stainless Steel & is designed in such a way that it can be screwed on the pipe opening. A protractor is provided to measure angle of swirl. Two Vertical, Inverted ā€˜Uā€™ tube manometers are also supplied, one each for measuring the pressure differential indicated by the probe & for locating the null position of the probe. Needle valves are provided in the manometer for isolating, when not in use. An RTD is also incorporated in the probe head for measuring the water temperature. Digital Temperature Indicator can also can be supplied for taking temperature readings.

2. Open Channel Thermal Grid: Is used to measure cold water temperature in the multi-point grid at the outlet of cooling tower.

3. Software: Computation software for data analysis & report generation.
