Unburnt carbon test

Un-burnt Carbon Test is done to determine the carbon content in the Fly Ash, which in turn indicates the combustion efficiency.

For this reason, its recommended that an ‘In-situ’ fly ash sample is frequently extracted for diagnostic or quantitative analysis.

1. High Volume Sampler ( HVS ) : To extract ‘‘In-situ’ About Iso-Kinetic Fly Ash sampler by traversing the boiler exit or air heater exit duct, for boiler tunning or periodic monitoring or FlyAsh L.O.I (In-burnt Carbon), Using HVS is simple, accurate & time saving as compared to other traditional collection systems. The fly ash is collected by drawing gas sampler into a stainless steel collection canister using an aspirator assembly. The ash is separated from the gas by passing the sample through high temperature filter paper fitted canister. The kit comes complete with the sampling probe, aspirator assembly & filter paper.

2. CEGRIT : Automatic On-line Fly Ash Sampler for continuous sampling of Gas Borne Dust (Fly Ash) in the flues of a boiler. It is a PATENTED equipment designed for use on all combustion or other registered processes where it is desirable to maintain a watch on dust burden & where there is a flue suction of more than about 250Pa It’s small, inexpensive, east to install & has a long life because it has no moving parts, with samplers collected continuously in a glass jar for weighing & analysis . Once set for Iso-Kinetic sampling, CEGRIT operates automatically & continuously during all stages of combustion from starting cycle to full load. It can be used for up, down or horizontal gas flows & can be operated in temperature upto 370 Deg C.

3. Residual Carbon Analyser : Is an on-line analyzer to determine carbon/ LOI in fly ash. The instrument provides the operator with vital Real Time information about the combustion efficiency through continuous monitoring or unburned carbon content in fly ash. The technology is based on extracting samples of flu-ash in flue gas ducts & analyzing them. The samples are returned into the flue gas duct or can, at preset times be collated in exchangeable containers as per requirement. It is a very reliable instrument with low maintenance requirements & it reduces to a great extent the need of performing the labour intensive laboratory analysis. This is by far the worlds most sold instrument in this field with over 200 units world wide.

4. L.O.I. Analyser with Analytical Balance : To determine the L.O.I. value of FlyAsh. This portable bench top analyser instrument permits Rapid Determination of Ash L.O.I. within few minutes eliminating long laboratory turn-around associated with conventional laboratory methodology. Typical turn around times of hours are reduces to minutes. Analytical balance of very high resolution & accuracy is used to weigh the samples precisely.
