Boiler & air pre-heater performance tests

Boiler & Air Pre-Heater Test determines Boiler Efficiency. Different accounts of loss of boiler efficiency & key performance indices of RAPH performance viz. LMTD (Log Mean Temp. Difference), Gas Side Efficiency, X-Ratio, Seal Leakage etc.

1. Grid Measurement Probes : Are used for Multi Point Gas Sampling & Temperature measurement in flue gas duct at the inlet & outlet of Air re-heater, For Secondary & Primary Air Ducts, separate Grid measurement probes are used which can measure only temperature as gas sampling is not required in this case. Number of Grid measurement probes required for a boiler depends on its size & physical dimensions of the ductwork.

2. MI Thermocouples : Are used for Temperature measurement of the Flue Gas, Secondary Air & Primary Air across the Air Pre-heater, These MI thermocouples are shielded & hence have considerably longer life compared to the conventional ‘wire type’ thermocouples. Also these thermocouples are grounded & hence there’s no need of external grounding.

3. Temperature Scanner with PC Interface : Provides automatic & continuous logging & archiving of temperature readings at a user-defined frequency & time interval. It also provides data validation at source & hence integrity of test results are maintained.

4. Gas Analyser (Fuel / Non Fuel Cell Based) : Using Grid Measurement probes, multiple gas analysis can be done at different levels simultaneously. Portable Fuel Cell/ Non Fuel Cell Based analysers available for Continuous/ Semi Continuous analysis of Flue Gas. These analysers have built-in vacuum pumps, filtering mechanism & are ideal for harsh environment. They meet various International Quality & Measuring Standards (ISO, TUV, USEPA etc.)

5. Multi Point Bubbler : Is used inn conjunction with multi-probes to collect a composite gas sampler from a grid. At the same time, it acts as a primary element to filter out associated fly ash & other impurities of flue gas. Ideal for Air Heater leakage testing. Specially designed transparent, break resistant single/multi-point bubble, with stainless steel connections & minimum joints to ensure leak proof results. Can be supplied with an aspirator /vacuum pump, rotameter, tubing etc for simultaneous Multi Point Sampling & Analysis. High temp tygon/ silicon tubing can also be supplied for sampling.

6. Vacuum Pump : A powerful dual stage positive displacement pump capable of extracting for computation of Boiler Efficiency.

7. Barometer : Provides barometric pressure of the test location which is required for computation of Boiler Efficiency. Digital compact, portable versatile instrument, which may be used in variety of modes as on absolute pressure barometer, differential pressure manometer & vacuum meter, Fully microprocessor based, with datalogging capabilities, RS232 & analog outputs. Compatible software can also be supplied for further analysis of measured data.

8. Motor Aspirator Psychrometer : Provides Dry & Wet bulb temperature of the test location. It’s used to determine absolute humidity required for calculation of Boiler Efficiency.

9. Software : Computation software for data analysis & report generation.
